This is an interesting article – the similarity of our approach to climate change is striking!
Couldn’t we all use some helpful advice about dealing with our finances? Now, at the end of the year, it is especially helpful to look both backward and ahead realistically, without beating ourselves up. This article helps us to do just that.
Have you ever thought that you have more stuff than you could possibly deal with and wouldn’t know how to begin? Fear not. Help is on the way! Download this 16 page booklet full of tips for tackling this seemingly impossible task.
Here’s a link to the Downsizing Guide.
You’ll also find a link to it under the Resources main menu heading!
Our next meeting of the Whitefield Cares! volunteer group will be on January 15 at 4:00 PM at the Whitefield Elementary School library. Please note the earlier meeting time – the suggestion was made that older residents of Whitefield might be more inclined to join us if we meet earlier in the day so we’re giving that a try! Please join us!
At our last meeting of the Whitefield Cares volunteer group, we spent time trying to figure out how to get our Resource List into the hands of the people who need it most. Because we don’t have any funding yet (hoping to do some fund raising for a town-wide mailing in the Spring), the best we can do right now is to ask everyone who is interested in our effort to spread the word among people you know. You can share the website and Facebook info, share any of the posts and do it widely! With time we will build our electronic audience but right now the Resource List in on these sites, the Town website (under Community), and printed copies are available at the Town Office. Please send any suggestions you have to spread the word!
We’ve released an updated Whitefield Cares! Resource List (dated 12/2/2019) and are now offering the United Way Services Directory as a separate download. We’re posting it here for your convenience. You will also find it (as well as other useful information) on the United Way of Mid Coast Maine website.
Most of the changes to the new Resource List are cosmetic- we’ve formatted it to fit on 2 pages instead of 4 and we’ve also corrected some errors in the original (11-05-2019) version. To make these two documents really easily available, there are now links to the latest versions of them on the top of the right hand side bar on the Whitefield Cares! website. We’ll also be posting them for download on our Facebook page. Paper copies will also be available at the Whitefield Town Office and at other selected locations around town. However, we expect to be updating the resource list frequently so to make sure you’re getting the most current versions of these documents, check this website often!
A reminder, signing up for the Whitefield Cares! newsletter is a two-step process. If you’ve signed up but have not seen a “confirm your subscription” email in your inbox, please check your spam folder! You won’t receive any emails until you confirm your subscription. If you’re having problems with this process, feel free to use our Contact Form to reach out to us and we’ll fix you up. We hope to be sending out monthly newsletters starting next month.
